Maple Coffeecake


  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup Malt-O-Meal® Maple & Brown Sugar Hot Wheat Cereal, dry
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup butter or margarine
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon maple flavoring or vanilla


Heat oven to 350°F. In large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cereal, salt and cinnamon; mix well. Add butter; beat at low speed for 1 minute or until mixture is crumbly. Reserve 1 cup for topping. To remaining mixture add baking powder; mix well. Add egg, milk and flavoring; beat at low speed for 1 minute. Spread batter in greased 9-inch square pan. Sprinkle with topping. Bake at 350°F. for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Yield: 9 servings.
