Jonesboro celebrates milestone anniversaries and recognizes community partners with thank you event

Post Consumer Brands is celebrating two major milestone anniversaries — 125 years for the Post brand and 100 years for the Malt-O-Meal brand. To commemorate these milestones, Jonesboro employees presented a $25,000 check to the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas during an employee appreciation event on March 12. The event took place on our Jonesboro plant campus, a place we’ve called home for nearly 30 years.

“People are central to our success in Jonesboro. That’s why we’re honoring our anniversaries by recognizing our dedicated team and giving back to a long-time community partner, the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas,” said John Kompa, Jonesboro plant manager. “Our partnership with the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas helps put breakfast on tables throughout our community, which is something to celebrate.”

In addition to the donation, the event included a gift presentation and catered meal for all team members. Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin, representatives from the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas and Post Consumer Brands executives attended.

“Post Consumer Brands in Jonesboro has a long history of supporting hunger relief efforts in Northeast Arkansas,” said Christie Jordan, CEO for the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas. “With more than 74,000 people living in food insecure households in the 12 counties served by the Food Bank, today’s donation will provide food for many families facing hunger.  We are grateful for the continued support of Post Consumer Brands.”

This celebration was inspired by the company’s founders — C.W. Post and John Campbell of Malt-O-Meal, two inventors who never met but who shared a vision that changed the cereal industry and paved the way to make breakfast better.

At the forefront of cereal industry innovation, our Jonesboro plant was the first food manufacturer in the greater Jonesboro, Ark. area. Today, nearly 200 team members produce around 120 million pounds, or 1.8 billion bowls, of cereal each year, including Honey Bunches of Oats®, Cocoa PEBBLES™ and Great Grains.
