Post Consumer Brands Spreading the Holiday Spirit by Giving to Local Communities

The season of giving has been evident across the Post Consumer Brands network over the last few months. This holiday season, our sites are showing up for their neighbors, lending support where it matters most, and making meaningful connections in the communities where we live and work.

Here’s a look at how sites across our network have been engaging in their communities recently.

Battle Creek employees donate, volunteer and fundraise for their community

Our Battle Creek team has participated in the Salvation Army Angel Tree Toy Drive for more than a decade, and this year, its efforts yielded more than 75 gifts donated. Over 50 employees took a ticket from the Angel Tree; made cash donations or provided gift cards; or volunteered their time to shop, load, and unload gifts – brightening Christmas Day for children around the community.

In partnership with the Better Together Foundation, Battle Creek employees also visited local elementary schools to hand out both a book and a box of cereal to students.

Additionally, the Women’s Development Network in Battle Creek held a fundraiser in October for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The team designed and sold t-shirts at the plant and raised over $1,000 to benefit SAFE Place, a local women’s shelter.

Bentonville supports Champions for Kids

For the second straight year, the Bentonville team sponsored and donated product to the Champions for Kids Holiday Festival, which celebrates and supports 21 K-8 schools in Northwest Arkansas in underserved communities. The event funds literacy programs and provides year-round gifts and resources to help prepare students for success in school and life and break the cycle of poverty.

Lakeville teams spread holiday cheer

In the weeks leading up to the holiday season, employees at our Lakeville headquarters sought ways to support their community. A few examples include donating poinsettias to local senior living facilities and The Open Door Pantry to spread holiday cheer. Additionally, the Lakeville team supported a donation of 300 boxes of cereal to WCCO as part of their Home for the Holidays campaign – an effort to raise awareness and support for veterans experiencing homelessness in Minnesota.

Several teams based in Lakeville used the holiday season as a reason to get out into the community and volunteer their time together, whether it was helping serve meals at hunger-relief organizations, dropping off food donations, or assembling tie-blankets to be donated to those in need.

Meadville team holds a donation drive

In Meadville, the team held a donation drive in November to support local veterans at their off-site warehouse. Employees were encouraged to donate food, blankets, and hygiene items that were then assembled into packs and given out during a “drive-thru” style pickup event.

In total, 15 volunteers distributed 100 essential care packages to local veterans in need.

Northfield teams partners to donate gifts, books and money

Our Northfield teams participated in a partnership with CLUES, Minnesota’s largest Latino-led non-profit that works to provide Christmas gifts for children, and the Women’s Development Network partnered with the Rice County United Way to collect books to donate at its office in Faribault, Minnesota.

Northfield also once again raised money to donate to “Operation Gerry Malecha”, which will be given to Believet, a local organization that trains service dogs for veterans experiencing PTSD. The team also donated to support the annual Winter Walk festival in Northfield, as well as supporting the local Community Action Center with Operation Joy — an event that raises money to purchase gift cards for local children from low-income households for  the holidays.

Toronto team supports the Daily Bread Food Bank

The Toronto team made a $10,000-plus donation to support the Daily Bread Food Bank of Toronto to help them combat food insecurity locally. Additionally, for the third straight year, leadership solicited prize donations from corporate partners which were auctioned at an employee event and 100% of the proceeds were donated to Daily Bread.

Together, these efforts highlight the many ways Post Consumer Brands shows up in our communities. Thank you to every team member who has contributed time, energy, and heart to make a difference. Learn more about how our team members give back to their communities.
